Stone Hug, 2025
Collected bricks, cantera, cement, rocks, stones.
A site-specific sculpture and activation created in Oaxaca, Mexico. Through the gathering and arranging of stones, the work is a poetic and physical gesture shaped by a lived struggle with authority—its weight and its presence—leaning into the Ceiba tree as a site of relief.
“To activate, I carried a pile of rocks to an edge of fatigue, circling the installation, circling the Ceiba Tree, focused on my breath, following an idea in which, we became old, and we became young, and everything dissolved—except the Ceiba tree, rooted in sacred dirt, from which, luscious and wild green continued to blossom infinitely.”
